DR. TRETTIN

Dr. Trettin is an exceptional leader in the intersection of technology, ethics, and mental health, making her uniquely qualified to steer a company specializing in content-filtering software. Graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Oberlin College with a major in Biochemistry, she further honed her expertise at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Masters in Bioethics from the Center for Bioethics and Health Law, alongside a Medical Degree with a specialization in women's health from the School of Medicine. Her comprehensive training includes a Psychiatric Internship at the University of Pennsylvania and a Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, where she excelled in various therapeutic techniques and was honored with the Excellence in Psychotherapy Award. As a board-certified professional with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Trettin embodies the pinnacle of ethical and empathetic mental health care.

Her approach is deeply informed by her extensive publication record, research background, and over 15 years of experience in private practice, where she has earned widespread respect from both peers and patients. Her vision for content filtering software is not just about safeguarding digital spaces but nurturing them into environments that support mental well-being, promote inclusivity, and respect the complex interplay between physical and mental health. Our primary mission is to provide state-of-the-art software through enticing and user-friendly tools that enhance consumer ability to make autonomous, individualized, unbiased, thorough, and efficient cyberspace choices.

Our secondary mission is to accumulate pure, accurate, and comprehensive data on consumer priorities that will be invaluable for outside business marketing.

Our overarching mission is that as we expand individual consumer choice, we spread and share this privilege with those who otherwise live with limited choices.

INSPIRATION &

BACKGROUND

When my father walked into a room, everyone turned their heads and paid attention. He was a natural master of quiet and humble elegance, a born teacher, a creative genius, a brilliant mind, a kind soul, and a heart of pure gold and generosity. My father went from living in the slums of NYC with nothing, to becoming a world-renowned director of television commercials. He never went to college and succeeded on the basis of mentors, raw talent, and hard work. He created a life for me and my two sisters that included the privilege of choice that he never had. His determination inspired me to become the best version of myself. The pride in his eyes when I walked across the stage to receive my Medical Doctorate is something I will never forget, “wow, a doctor, my daughter.”

My current practice Women’s Psychiatric Healthcare, LLC integrates mind-body wellness through comprehensive and collaborative care. I approach my patients with great attention to detail, considering medical, developmental, and relational factors. I believe in empowering my patients in their decision-making capacity and to this end, we work as a team in the planning and execution of their care. I am successful in my profession because...

I am able to balance evidence-based science with a personalized approach that is completely unique for each individual. To do my job well, I must have a broad yet specific set of skills- I am detail-oriented, organized, and thorough; I am also creative and think broadly to make unexpected connections and prioritize the holistic nature of human challenges. I am flexible, reflective, and insightful in both my social and professional behaviors. I am a deep thinker and a problem-solver. Pushing beyond the boundaries of medicine, I am at my core an out-of-the-box innovator.

I have long grappled with the inherent fragmentation of medical care. In my Bioethics master thesis, I argued that this is a direct result of our broader cultural reasoning. Dominant logic organizes information in such a way that people’s bodies are broken up into separate pieces with a lack of connectivity, and individual interests are dichotomized so that true unique character is lost. As I have contemplated the layers of theory that lead to this dilemma, I have increasingly observed its relevance across different societal contexts. Technology in general, and the era of the internet specifically, presents infinite opportunities for the true individual to become lost behind the larger structural organization of medicine. Interestingly, I have found that the organization of corporate marketing presents similar problems. That is, in medicine, we organize by specialty; in corporate marketing, we organize by brand. In both cases, divisive reasoning makes individual nuances invisible.

Taken together, the inspiration from my father, my unique skill set, and my particular interest in the dominant culture of fragmented reasoning led to the birth of Choice. Choice is a platform framed by his view of the world, dedicated to inspiring autonomous individual choice, and committed to spreading choice to those who have none.
